Who is
Lauren Alexandra?

Bio
Hi! I'm Lauren Alexandra, and I am a theatre director and artist based in Atlanta, GA. I've always had a deep love for storytelling, and the power that performance can have on an individual. I've seen performances that have changed my outlook on things, or even made me feel like I could accomplish anything. I love diving into the human experience and getting to dissect why we as people make the decisions that we do.
Recently, I've had the opportunity to continue to grow as an artist through the directing apprenticeship at Actor's Express in Midtown Atlanta. Now, I'm looking forward to continuing to learn and grow as a director. I can't wait to continue to impact lives through my art.
In my free time, I love exploring the city of Atlanta. I try to spend as much time with my friends and family as possible, and I love getting to have new experiences. Especially if those experiences involve food!
Artistic Philosophy
"Get comfortable with being uncomfortable."

My favorite part of directing, is the moment I get to watch an audience really understand the messaging of a show. The moment where everything finally comes together, and I know that I've done my job in helping to convey the message.
I love working with subject matters or dialogue that can often be uncomfortable to experience. I believe being uncomfortable is the most humane feeling, and a beautiful way for all of us as people to connect. We have to learn to be comfortable sitting in the uncomfortableness of life. This mindset is foundational to how I work as a director, and why I enjoy working on dynamic, and thought provoking pieces. I hope that whatever work I'm presenting, starts a dialogue.
